Minetta Tavern’s menu is a masterful blend of classic French bistro fare and hearty New York tavern favorites, delivering rich flavors in every dish. Start with their Moules Frites—plump Bouchot mussels bathed in a delicate sauce Poulette, paired perfectly with crisp pommes frites. The Arctic Char offers a refined balance of sautéed corn, earthy chanterelle mushrooms, and light corn foam, showcasing thoughtful seasonal ingredients.
The star, undoubtedly, is the Black Label Burger, a prime dry-aged beef marvel, juicy and full of deep, buttery flavor without the need for cheese. For those craving classic comfort, the Duck Leg Confit "À Cheval"—served with a sunnyside egg, frisée, and lardon—melds richness with a soulful twist. Side dishes like Aligot and Grilled Asparagus provide perfect accompaniments, rounding out a menu that honors tradition with bold, satisfying execution.

Came in for a late lunch excited to try this place. The atmosphere is great - old school tavern, unassuming from the outside, lively bar. The service was excellent from start to finish and the cocktails and drinks were delicious. The food left a little bit to be desired. The apps we tried were great (bone marrow 8/10; steak tartare 7/10). We had a range of entrees at the table... the moules frites were the highlight. The pappardelle was nothing special. The steak frites included a generous portion of steak that paired well with the bearnaise sauce and the fries were outstanding. However, there was no difference between the medium and medium rare that was ordered for the table, the kitchen went a bit overboard on the pepper seasoning, and the steak knives we received were less sharp than the butter knives we already had. Overall, worth checking out at least once. I'd come back if I was in the area to try the burger.
